I'd like to invite Melbourne University Summer School students to submit their films to PLANET01.tv

PLANET01.tv is an exploded group network of filmmakers, animators, video artists, VJ's, and people with something to show you, bringing you their piece of the action from around the world. So far contributions are coming from London, Amsterdam, Prague, Wellington and Sydney, and we're aiming to have video from just about everywhere in the world.

Basically PLANET01 was set up in order to bring people's video and film work to a greater audience than we could access individually. It's been going officially since the 1st of Jan 2006, and already we've had an awesome response, and many UK and European video makers have already jumped on. I am an Aussie living and working in post production in London, and I want to bring the most diverse range of material to PLANET01 subscribers through many different avenues.

Planet01 will not try to own your material, or sell it or anything. The feed is set up as a free service to promote your work to a larger audience, and I'll very happily publish links, pictures and text beside every entry. We have a policy in place whereby if in the future we do start to make any advertising revenue from the feed, each artist will get 60% of their revenue(but this is a little way off yet). You are invited to brand your work as you see fit- PLANET01 is just the push broadcast medium, and all contributors will be identified fully. It's a great way of getting traffic to your website.

Build yourself an international audience, be seen by the planet, and be a part of a network of filmmakers @ www.PLANET01.tv

Coming soon- submissions from Tokyo and South Africa..

got a film to Submit? Interested? Email: contribute@planet01.tv

Editor.

Slow Food Victoria is running a short film competition for A Taste of Slow which is our major annual festival. Basically we are seeking short
films (under 15 mins with a special prize for “Soft Boiled Egg” prize for best 3 min film) that play or explore Slow Food issues (food traditions, politics, ethics, environment, taste/pleasure, cooking – anything that offers a unique perspective on food).

More information and conditions of entry are available at www.slowshorts.com.

Make a Film Make a Difference

The Transport Accident Commission's Make a Film Make a Difference competition is on again. MAFMAD is calling for ideas for a short film that'll make your mates think twice before taking risks on the road.

So, if you're 25 or under and have a creative idea for a short film that will make a difference, then check out the brief. You can view previous winning films and hear what MAFMAD mentors and judges have to say about what makes a winning entry.
